Paul McQuillan

Northern Irish Baritone, Paul studied singing with the late Frank Capper and Russell Smythe. He has performed in the chorus for Northern Ireland Opera for ‘La Traviata’, ‘La Bohème’, ‘Die Fledermaus’, ‘The Magic Flute’, ‘Bartered Bride’, and for Castleward Opera in ‘La Traviata’, ‘La Belle Helene’. Since 2018 he has been a member of NÍ Opera Chorus, performing in ‘Rigoletto’, ‘Die Fledermaus’, ‘La Boheme’, ‘La Traviata’. In early 2023, he sang in the premier performances of Neil Martin’s new Opera ‘Nobody/Somebody’ and in September performed the role of the Jailer in NI Opera’s production of Tosca.

He has performed as a concert soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Faure’s Requiem, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Gounod’s Requiem. Paul is a member of the Belfast based chamber choir, Cappella Caeciliana and has recorded and performed with them throughout Ireland, Europe and America.

He has been a member of the NI Opera Chorus Development Programme since 2022.
