Susan Shepherd

Susan Shepherd is a well-respected and much sought-after singing teacher and versatile Soprano from Carrickfergus. A graduate of Queen’s University Belfast, Susan holds a First Class Honours degree and a Masters in Music. She also gained a PGCert in Vocal Pedagogy through the Voice Study Centre, whilst studying with Dr Jenevora Williams.

Susan has extensive performing experience both as a concert soloist and in professional ensemble singing. In addition to Northern Ireland Opera Chorus, she sings Soprano in The Ulster Consort and has previously sung in the Belfast Cathedral Choir under Matthew Owens and in the late John Anderson’s Voices of Ireland. Since recently returning from maternity leave following the birth of her first child,

Susan’s solo work has included Handel Messiah, Bach St John Passion, Faure Requiem and Belinda in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. She is delighted to be back working with NI Opera for the 24/25 season.
