Members of the NI Opera Chorus will be performing with the @divaoperauk cast in 'La Boheme' in the Carlisle Memorial, Belfast next month. Sopranos Susan Shepherd @susan_shepherd27 Olivia Burns @olivia_mae_burns mezzo Naomi Cantley @naomi.cantley tenors Samuel Moore @samuelmooretenor and Stephen Rusk @stephenrrusk and baritone Paul McQuillan @paulbasso01 will be performing in this most famous work by Puccini. Diva Opera's production in partnership with NI Opera is set in 1890s Paris, and staged in the round. It will be performed with a Steinway grand piano, in Italian with English surtitles. During the interval reception, with drinks and canapés included in the ticket price, there will be a silent auction with bid items including a walk-on part in Carmen at the Grand Opera House this September, a private concert with two singers and a pianist, and fabulous experiences @grandcentralbelfast and @malonegolfclub among other items. All funds raised will go towards our artist development programmes, giving opportunities to the very talented emerging artists based here in Northern Ireland, like these fantastic chorus members. 'Morning Melodies' is coming to a spectacular new location in June and July. NI Opera artists will perform arias and songs in the Observatory at Grand Central Hotel. Meet the cast of 'La Bohème' in an exciting new production coming to the Carlisle Memorial, Belfast on 16 May. Rehearsals are starting with the main cast this week: we can't wait to bring Puccini's much-loved opera to life in Belfast just over six weeks from now. This new production is a partnership with @divaoperauk and made possible with the support of the Laidlaw Opera Trust and our principal funder, @artscouncilni Members of the NI Opera Chorus will be performing in the production - we'll be announcing these singers soon. Regular followers will recognise our soprano Mary McCabe, making her role debut as Mimi. Tickets are on sale now at £62.50 each which include a 45 minute interval reception with canapes and drinks. We've been looking back at memories of La Bohème in Carlisle Memorial @bbtbelfast in September 2021: our first production out of lockdown, albeit still with very limited numbers allowed each night. This beautiful venue was also the set for our award-winning film made during the pandemic, 'Old Friends and Other Days', stills and images from which you can also see in this gallery of images. We can't wait to be back in the Carlisle Memorial on 16 May with an exciting new production of La Bohème in collaboration with @divaoperauk This brand new production stars Northern Irish soprano Mary McCabe @marymccabesoprano as Mimì and Robyn Lyn Evans as Rodolfo with Tereza Gevorgyan and Jean-Kristof Bouton as Musetta and Marcello. Bringing together Diva Opera’s internationally celebrated chamber opera company and incorporating members of the NI Opera Chorus, this production places audiences at the heart of the story. Staged with the greatest of detail, this intimate and up-close experience performed with a Steinway grand piano, allows La Bohème to unfold within the soaring Gothic interior of the Carlisle Memorial Church, taking the audience into the Parisian garrets of the Bohemians. The ticket price of £62.50 includes a 45 minute interval reception with drinks and canapés.
