Tickets are now available to book for the world premiere of our brand new opera 'Nobody/Somebody' at the Belfast Children's Festival @youngatartbelfast. There are five performances at the Elmwood Hall in Belfast between March 3-5, including a schools event. 'Nobody/Somebody' was inspired by the young activists of PPR @nooneleftbehind_ppr in Belfast. It has a libretto by award-winning playwright @fionnuala_kennedy and is composed by Neil Martin @nmcellopipes, both of whom are Belfast-based. It tells the story of a group of teens and adults, supported by a community worker who protest about their experiences of housing stress and homelessness in a campaign aimed at building better social housing in their home city. Will the politicians listen? Will the young people’s voices be heard? Join us on their campaign and find out what it takes, what it can cost and where the story ends… 'Nobody/Somebody' will be performed by artists from NI Opera and the @ulsteryouthorchestra . The creative team will be augmented by Youth Counterparts, who have been selected in a partnership with @springboardopps and who will experience working on a fully staged opera alongside our main creative team, Find out all about the opera on our website via the bio link where you can also book your tickets. Workshops for schools and youth groups are available and there will be a schools performance at 11 am on 3 March.
