Audition for Music Theatre Performers

Northern Ireland Opera, 15 & 16 November 2024, Belfast, Northern Ireland

The award-winning Northern Ireland Opera is holding auditions for 2025/26 programming and would like to hear from music theatre and triple threat performers that reside on the island of Ireland.  Northern Ireland Opera produces award-winning work both in Northern Ireland and internationally, including  Sondheim’s Into the Woods (2022 Best Production, The Irish Times, Irish Theatre Awards &  Best Ensemble Performing Arts WA Awards, Australia)

Audition dates will be on Friday November 15 and Saturday November 16 from 10am – 6pm. These auditions will be held in Belfast.

Movement call requirements

This will be a group movement session and will include a warm-up. We will be looking at a variety of different dance styles, there is nothing to prepare. Please wear clothing that you can move freely in and bring appropriate footwear. 

Music call requirements

Could you please be prepared to present two contrasting songs from composers the likes of Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner and Loewe, Sondheim, Bernstein and Cole Porter and one choice of your own.  We will provide our own pianist for these auditions.

Please identify any other skills you may have related to performance or the arts, including playing an instrument and to what level of proficiency you are able to perform at on your instrument.
