Bobbi Rai-Purdy

Bobbi has worked with groups of all ages, abilities and backgrounds delivering Visual Arts and Drama Workshops in Belfast for 30 years. Working within the community sector and as a freelance visual artist , she has also co-ordinated projects , training and delivered a variety of arts based projects for various theatre companies and organisations. Some of these include the Lyric Theatre , The Mac, Young at Art, Beat Carnival, and Kabosh. She has worked as an Artist in Residence at Glenmona Resource Centre working with young people in care for 20 years. She was an Ambassador Visual Artist for the Play Resource Warehouse for 26 years. She was also the Artist In Residence working with Age NI.

Her work includes intergenerational projects, working with older people, young people, children, with schools and residential groups, and organisations. She has also worked closely with the Northern Trust on the Well- Read Project with Prime Cut Productions. She is working as the Community Engagement Manager for Prime Cut Productions. Coming from a Visual Arts background she was the Lead artist for Artichoke and the ‘Now 14-18 Processions’ project which toured nationally.

Bobbi is working as Community Outreach Coordinator with Northern Ireland Opera from 2024/25 delivering opportunities for the community to engage in the Opera experience and making it accessible to all. – if you’d be interested in taking part or finding out more about our programmes, please get in touch with Bobbi by emailing community@niopera.com
