Charlie Clarke-Hughes
Charlie Clarke-Hughes is a British tenor based in the North Coast of Northern Ireland. Performing nationally and internationally, he’s held the position of lay clerk with the choirs of St Albans Abbey, St Anne’s Belfast, Exeter and Gloucester Cathedrals, having also been a chorister at Salisbury Cathedral.
Charlie is in his fifteenth year as a key member of the Schola Cantorum at the annual Edington Festival of Music Within the Liturgy, specialising particularly in plainsong chant. He performs regularly with professional choirs such as the Ulster Consort across the UK and Ireland.
A recording artist in demand he’s contributed to a catalogue of work regularly featured on BBC channels. Charlie is in his second year as a member of the Northern Ireland Opera Chorus Development programme having been involved in both the world premiere of Nobody/Somebody by Neil Martin and in Tosca at the Grand Opera House.
