Elspeth Orr

Elspeth Orr is a singer, conductor and educator native to Belfast, and currently teaches Music at the Methodist College. Having spent much of her early career in Edinburgh, she recently completed a Masters in Music Performance (Choral Conducting) at Youngstown State University in Ohio, USA. While living in America, Elspeth appeared as a mezzo-soprano soloist with the Warren Civic Chorus, Dana Chorale and Dana Opera Ensemble. In Edinburgh, she was a member of numerous chamber choirs including Sospiro Baroque, Edinburgh Camarata, Calton Consort and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra Chorus. Elspeth has appeared as a mezzo-soprano soloist with Edinburgh Symphony Baroque and the Edinburgh University Singers in performances of Handel’s Messiah and Semele (Athamas), Mozart’s Requiem and Coronation Mass, Bach’s B Minor Mass and Christmas Oratorio. Elspeth currently sings with the Ulster Consort and is delighted to join the NI Opera Chorus Programme for 2023.
