Niall Anderson

Originally from Fife, Niall Anderson began his vocal studies at the Royal Academy of Music, before joining the Académie at the Opéra national de Paris, where engagements included Krzysztof Warlikowski’s production of A Quiet Place, conducted by Kent Nagano (Palais Garnier); Collatinus The Rape of Lucretia (Bouffes du Nord); Ballades du Nord, Classiques Américains and Concert de fêtes (Amphithéâtre Olivier Messiaen – Opera Bastille). This season he performs Priest / Armed Man Die Zauberflöte and Flemish Deputy Don Carlo (Opéra national de Paris), and Joe, called Alaskawolfjoe Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny (Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari).

Other engagements include Sacristan in NI Opera’s 2023 production of Tosca; Escamillo in Peter Brook’s La Tragédie de Carmen (Atelier Lyrique de Tourcoing); Allazim Zaide (Angers Nantes Opéra, Opéra de Rennes); Elgar The Light of Life (Cairo Celebration Choir & Orchestra); and Mozart Requiem (Orchestre de Pau Pays de Béarn).

His recordings include An Officer of Cromwell in Mercadante’s Il proscritto (Britten Sinfonia for Opera Rara).
