Niamh Lavery

Niamh is a soprano and graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama where she held the Mary D Adams scholarship for singing studying under the direction of Stephen Roberston.
Prior to moving to Glasgow, she studied with the late Professor Irene Sandford at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

She enjoyed been part of Castleward opera, being a chorus member in their productions of Madame Butterfly, Puccini and Martha, Flotow. Whilst at RSAMD took part in their production of L’enfant et les sortilege and Riders to the Sea. At the annual Haddo Opera joined the chorus in their production of La Traviata. Niamh has enjoyed playing the roles of Juillete in Tossini production of A boy in the city. Mephistopheles in Peace and Reconciliation, by Peter Morgan Barnes. 1st boy in the Magic Flute, (Castleward). Cis in Albert Herring (Castleward) and Laurette in Docteur Miracle (Castleward).

Niamh has been delighted to be member of the Northern Ireland Opera Chorus Development programme since 2022. Taking part in their productions of La Traviata Verdi, Tosca Puccini, The Juniper Tree Philip Glass and their concert performance of Midsummer Nights dream, Mendelssohn. Niamh has performed on various choral, concert, oratorio platforms throughout the UK and Ireland. She enjoys working as a peripatetic singing tutor.

Niamh is a native of Lurgan Co. Armagh.
