Olivia Burns
Olivia Burns is a soprano/mezzo-soprano from Newcastle, County Down, with a developing focus on classical and operatic repertoire. She holds Associate Diplomas (ALCM) in both Classical Singing and Musical Theatre, and achieved Distinctions in Grades 1–8 across both disciplines. She studied with Ashley Fulton MBE from 2017 to 2025 and has undertaken further training with the Sylvia Young Theatre School and Actors Lab Manchester.
Her classical repertoire includes Purcell’s “When I am laid in earth” (Dido and Aeneas), Handel’s “Lascia ch’io pianga” (Rinaldo), Gluck’s “Che farò senza Euridice” (Orfeo ed Euridice), and Mozart’s “Voi che sapete” (Le nozze di Figaro).
As a soloist, she has performed at leading venues including the Ulster Hall, the Waterfront Hall, and the Grand Opera House, Belfast. Her concert experience is complemented by extensive choral work, including performances with senior and chamber ensembles, and appearances as a soloist on BBC Radio Ulster.
Her stage experience includes roles such as Cinderella (Into the Woods), Belle (Beauty and the Beast), and Ursula (The Little Mermaid), alongside ensemble appearances in productions including Sunset Boulevard and Oliver! at the Grand Opera House, Belfast. She has performed with companies including Newcastle Glees Singers Society and Ravara Productions.
Olivia is a member of the Northern Ireland Opera Chorus Development Programme and of Belfast Operatic Company, and continues to develop a broad and versatile repertoire, with an increasing emphasis on operatic performance.
