Rebecca Reid
Rebecca Reid is a Belfast-based full lyric soprano studying with Michelle Wegwart, whose career spans the Opéra Bastille, the Bolshoi Theatre, Zurich Opera, and the Salzburg Festival. On the operatic stage her highlights include performances with York Opera in Die Zauberflöte and Tales of Kings and Queens, and understudying the role of Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore. Her oratorio work includes Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem, Fauré’s Requiem, and Howard Goodall’s Eternal Light: A Requiem with ensembles including Fermanagh Choral Society, Leeds University Choir, and Newark Choral Society.
She holds degrees from the University of Leeds and the University of York, and is a Vocal Habilitation Professional and singing teacher based in Belfast. In 2026 she joins Northern Ireland Opera’s Chorus Development Programme for the production of Carmen.
