Ryan Greer

Ryan is a classically trained pianist, graduating with a BA in Music from York University in 2016. He has since worked as a freelance musician and performer in Northern Ireland, and enjoys working in classical, choral and musical theatre settings. In demand as an accompanist, he frequently accompanies workshops and masterclasses given by international bass Graeme Danby, and regularly works as a pianist and arranger for Peter Corry Productions.

From 2019 until May 2022 Ryan worked at the International College of Musical Theatre, Belfast branch, accompanying students, directing ensemble singing and teaching music theory. His experience in MT also includes musically directing productions of Company, Oliver!, Chicago, The Addams Family Jnr, The Wizard of Oz, Little Shop of Horrors, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jnr and Shrek Jnr. He will be working on Little Mermaid Jnr with Belfast School of Performing Arts this summer.

Since February 2017 he has been a member of ‘The Björn Identity,’ Ireland’s most authentic touring ABBA tribute band, in which he plays Benny Andersson. They have toured theatres and arenas throughout Germany and Austria, with further dates being planned in 2024/2025. When not playing/arranging/performing Ryan is working to conserve the historic Kilwaughter Castle outside Larne. He organised a number of events to celebrate its quarter-centenary in 2022, including “Stories from the Round Tower,” in which he performed piano music from significant eras in the castle’s history. He plans to develop it as a non-profit visitor attraction and event space in the future.
