Sarah Hoben

Sarah Hoben is a 20-year-old soprano from Newry. She is studying Music and Audio Production at Queen’s University, Belfast. Sarah studies singing under the tutelage of Jenny Bourke and made her professional debut in NI Opera’s production of ‘The Juniper Tree’ in February 2024.

In 2022, Sarah was a finalist in the televised BBC School Soloist of the Year and Northern Ireland Young Musician of the Year competitions. She also competed in the Dublin Soloist Competition in 2019. Sarah has sung with the National Youth Choir of Northern Ireland and Flynn Performing Arts and was awarded a National Arts Award for ‘Creative Flair’ for her Grade 8 Classical Singing.

Sarah’s most recent achievements include winning the W.D. Irwin Cup and the Heathwood Cup at the Portadown Musical Festival in 2024.
