Northern Irish tenor Stephen Rusk has been singing since he was a boy and formally trained as a pianist and organist, studying at Queen’s University, Belfast.
Since the pandemic, alongside a career as a public servant, he has renewed his love for singing, studying with acclaimed soprano, Rebekah Coffey. He has since performed in a number of choral ensembles, including the choir of St Anne’s Cathedral under Matthew Owens and the Belfast Philharmonic Choir directed by James Grossmith.
Stephen is passionate about opera and was delighted to sing in the chorus of Northern Ireland Opera’s 2023 production of Tosca. He joins the company’s Chorus Development Programme in 2024 and will perform in NI Opera’s forthcoming production of The Juniper Tree.
