Royal visit to the opening night of ‘Eugene Onégin’

Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester attended the opening night of ‘Eugene Onégin’ at The Grand Opera House on September 14th.

They were accompanied by the Lord Lieutenant of Belfast, Dame Fionnuala Jay-O’Boyle and welcomed by the Chair of Northern Ireland Opera, Roy Baillie CBE, Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Northern Ireland Opera Cameron Menzies and the Chief Executive of the Grand Opera House, Ian Wilson.

After the show, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester met members of the cast and creative team backstage.

Other dignitaries in attendance included Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly and High Sheriff of Belfast, Sammy Douglas.
