NI Opera’s productions listed among the best productions of the year for ‘The Observer’ and ‘The Stage’.
Our production of ‘La Traviata’ at the Grand Opera House in Belfast in September has been listed as the second in a list of ten of the best operas and concerts of the year in the UK by The Observer, with our February production of ‘Into The Woods’ at the Lyric Theatre listed in the top 50 UK productions of 2022 by The Stage, with a further great mention for ‘La Traviata’.
Both productions were directed by NI Opera’s Artistic Director, Cameron Menzies, and marked our return to full production with live audiences after the pandemic, so we are extremely proud to be selected for these two prestigious national round-ups of the best of the year’s productions.
‘Into The Woods’ will open again in Perth for West Australian Opera in March, where the Belfast creative team will work with a cast of Australian performers to bring the NI Opera production back to life again.
We’re grateful to all the brilliant artists, creatives, musicians and tech teams for working so hard on these shows and to our audiences, who packed out The Lyric back in February straight after the Omicron issues and filled the house four nights over for our sold-out run of ‘La Traviata’.
We can’t wait to be back on stage in 2023 with our new programme and productions.
