Music and Creative Skills Workshops

A Northern Ireland Opera Education Event for Secondary School Music Students

Northern Ireland Opera invites your senior music students to participate in an outreach week at the Grand Opera House. This unique educational experience is tailored for senior music students and repertoire will include works by Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Humperdinck, Puccini, Bizet, Verdi and Britten.

Join us as we deliver a week of educational exploration, where students will have the opportunity to deepen their musical understanding and gain insights from industry professionals in the collaborative art form of opera.

What to Expect:

Monday to Thursday: Immersive Workshops

  • A daily timetable of different music and theatre skills workshop activities from Monday to Thursday where students can explore acting, staging, directing, and linguistics, unveiling the multifaceted world of opera.
  • Each session lasts the full day, but schools are welcome to attend as many workshops as they wish and to participate in the shared performance on the Friday.
  • Delve into repertoire and enhance performance skills working with music and theatre professionals from Northern Ireland Opera in The Studio of the Grand Opera House.

Friday: Collaborative Performance Day
