Northern Ireland Opera are delighted to announce the return of ‘Outreach Week’!
In the build-up to our main stage production of ‘La Traviata’ in the Grand Opera Belfast, join us for community events including creative workshops, behind-the-scenes tours, ‘Come and Sing’ events, pop-up performances and our free open dress rehearsal for youth and community groups.
Outreach Week is a wonderful opportunity to come and take part in all sorts of events designed for different age groups and abilities in one of Belfast’s most historic venues. The programming and events are made possible by the funding given to Northern Ireland Opera by our Principal Funders, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and by the Garfield Weston Foundation, whose support for our year-round outreach programming has recently been generously renewed for the next three years.
If you’d be interested in finding out more about how to get involved, or you have a youth, school or community group who might be interested in joining us, please contact Caolan Keaveney at firstname.lastname@example.org. Come along and try something new!
Feedback from past Outreach Week attendees:
‘Our residents really enjoyed it. They are older ladies who have had a particularly difficult past, and the idea of them relaxing and enjoying your brilliant show has me grinning from ear to ear.’
‘The children were given experiences we would just not be ordinarily able to provide. The way they spoke about the day on the way back to school demonstrates the impact that the sessions had.’
‘We were gripped. And the most diverse audience imaginable for this art form. The atmosphere was electric. I’m a convert!’
We’d love to see as many of our previous attendees as possible – and new community and youth groups too! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
