A glimpse behind the scenes during Diva Opera and NI Opera's recent partnership production of La Bohème at the Carlisle Memorial... The performance took place in the round, but Carlisle Memorial was also filled with vignettes from past NI Opera productions: production shots, costumes and props on display for our audience to get a close look at some of the elements that help bring a show to life. During a 45 minute interval with drinks and canapés, the audience were able wander through images and moments from some of the operas we've created on stage and screen over the past few years. What an amazing residency we've had in Carlisle Memorial, concluding with our sold-out performance of La Bohème in partnership with @divaoperauk last night and including a community dress rehearsal, costume and wigs skills talk and a Morning Melodies concert. Morning Melodies is back next Wednesday morning from 11am to midday, this time in the Carlisle Memorial, Carlisle Circus. Guest artists @marymccabesoprano and @jennybourke_mezzo will join NI Opera artists @olivia_mae_burns @nealacahir_ in a gorgeous morning of arias and duets in this stunning venue. They will be accompanied by pianist Bryan Evans @bryanevansinsta on a Steinway grand piano. Tickets are £20 plus booking fee and include a coffee/tea and traybake. Members of the NI Opera Chorus will be performing with the @divaoperauk cast in 'La Boheme' in the Carlisle Memorial, Belfast next month. Sopranos Susan Shepherd @susan_shepherd27 Olivia Burns @olivia_mae_burns mezzo Naomi Cantley @naomi.cantley tenors Samuel Moore @samuelmooretenor and Stephen Rusk @stephenrrusk and baritone Paul McQuillan @paulbasso01 will be performing in this most famous work by Puccini. Diva Opera's production in partnership with NI Opera is set in 1890s Paris, and staged in the round. It will be performed with a Steinway grand piano, in Italian with English surtitles. During the interval reception, with drinks and canapés included in the ticket price, there will be a silent auction with bid items including a walk-on part in Carmen at the Grand Opera House this September, a private concert with two singers and a pianist, and fabulous experiences @grandcentralbelfast and @malonegolfclub among other items. All funds raised will go towards our artist development programmes, giving opportunities to the very talented emerging artists based here in Northern Ireland, like these fantastic chorus members.
