What an amazing week we've just had with these fabulous young people who took part in our Halloween Music and Creative Skills Week. This free, week-long holiday scheme explored some of the skills we use to bring an opera to the stage, from singing, drama, costume and make-up design to movement, music and acting. This event is part of our year-round education and outreach programme, providing our local community with free opportunities to explore and enjoy and learn some of the skills we use in opera. We were so impressed with the P7-P9s who came and took part in our programme, which this half-term was based in the Ormeau Bowling Green, following similar events at St John's, Falls Road at Easter and St Finnian's in East Belfast last Halloween. Thank you to the fantastic facilitators who shared their skills with our students: Ryan Greer (piano), @darrenfranklin645 (musical theatre), @debrellen (drama), Jasmine McClure (dance/movement), @gillian.lennox01 (costume), Sarah Alcorn (opera), Toni Campbell (SFX Make-Up), @megan_mcardle and to our Outreach Coordinator @bobbiraipurdy and Gerard Kelly for brilliantly managing and hosting the week. We're really looking forward to being part of Georgian Week in Armagh next month. Sopranos @marymccabesoprano and @anna.gregg.soprano with pianist @tristanrusscher will be performing a gorgeous concert in the Primate's Chapel in the Palace Demesne, Armagh @abc_council on 30 November. Repertoire will include work by Monteverdi, Handel, Mozart, Charpentier and more.
