We'll be kicking off the Christmas season on 30th November with members of the NI Opera Chorus performing carols and festive music in The Great Room of @merchantbelfast during afternoon tea service. There are two sittings, one from 12.45 to 2.15pm and the second from 3.15 to 4.45pm - if you book an afternoon tea on 30 November for either of these sittings you'll experience some beautiful music from NI Opera artists too! Our popular Christmas Sing-Along is back! Northern Ireland Opera is devastated to hear of the loss of Clare Afshar – a highly accomplished artist who has worked with us on a number of projects in the last few years. Clare was an integral part of our creative team for our award-winning film ‘Old Friends and Other Days’ which was created during lockdown in the Carlisle Memorial Church - pictured here on set. She also worked on our critically-acclaimed production of 'La Bohème', took part in our Creative Skills showcase at the Crumlin Road Gaol inspiring a future generation of potential creative young artists, and most recently worked with us to create the looks for a major photoshoot which launched our recent production of Eugene Onégin.
